Anti-wrinkle injections

It has been recognised that we develop facial lines for a number of reasons.  Some of these are:

• Ageing (intrinsic and photo ageing related to sun exposure)
• Gravity (vertical and sleep lines)
• Muscular action (lines of facial expression)

While other procedures such as Laser, Collagen or Facial Peels can be effective in treating some of these lines, anti-wrinkle injections are effective in treating the lines caused by muscle contraction.  The areas of the face that are particularly suitable for treatment are forehead lines, frown lines and 'crows feet'.

How do anti-wrinkle injections work?

The treatment includes a series of injections to the chosen area/s and the whole procedure takes approximately 15 minutes. 

The result will not be immediately effective as it takes between 3-5 days  before the muscle becomes relaxed.  The maximum effect peaks at around 2 weeks.  You can expect the effect to last between 3-4 months, as the result will progressively wear off as the muscle becomes sensitive again. However, with regular treatment the effect can be expected to last longer, sometimes up to 8 months, depending on the area.

Non-Permanent Dermal Fillers

Long Term Dermal Fillers

We offer a long lasting dermal filler ideal for some facial corrections, such as wrinkle treatment (eg nasolabial folds, depressed corners of the mouth), lip augmentation, correction of acne scars, augmentation of chin, forehead or cheekbones, correction of nose shape and augmentation of depressed cheeks.

The gel used is non-reabsorbable, long-lasting, doesn't become hard once injected or migrate from the point of injection.  The gel has been proven to provide good cosmetic effect up to 10-15 years.

The gel is injected under the skin as a soft filling with a fine needle.  Together with the doctor you can decide, in front of the mirror, what the final cosmetic result should be.  It is performed in the day surgery with local anaesthetic and hardly any discomfort and no down time.  After the injection you will be able to leave immediately.
